Last year's funwalk raised over £1000! Lets see if we can achieve this in 2025!

David Bourner, volunteer researcher at BBHS and author of two local history books, handed over a cheque for £1600 to Basildon Heritage last week.

Both of his books, 'The Rise and Fall of Laindon High Road' and 'When Basildon Was Built' have both sold extremely well and, according to David, much of their success was down to Basildon Heritage.

The huge collection of resources held at the Heritage Centre, which includes photographs, maps and newspapers as well as many other documents proved to be a very valuable asset when it came to undertaking the research for both books.
